Gardaí are investigating an arson attack on a house in Drogheda, Co Louth last night.

The fire services were alerted to the incident at St Laurence’s Park at around 9.40pm.

A woman in her 30s and her three young children who were in the house at the time escaped uninjured.

They were assessed at the scene and did not require hospital treatment.

The fire was brought under control, however, gardaí said considerable damage was caused to the property.

An investigation is under way and the scene has been preserved for a forensic examination.
