Today while driving I switched to 5 different radio stations and the sad announcement of our President’s loss of his beloved Bernaise mountain dog. I have dogs and I believe many TD’s in Dail Eireann have their dogs and love them also. 39 homeless people have died on our mean streets of Dublin and beyond this year. Are we now saying that these people get a few lines written but no empathy or sympathy applies to their loss. Where are the boundaries now or let me use the word “Morals”? Are the lives of these vulnerable homeless less important than Michael D’s dog? If this is fact now, as a Nation, we will eventually be judged harshly as to how we treat our most vulnerable.
