4 arrested after cocaine, cash seized in Louth

Four people have been arrested after cocaine worth an estimated €50,000 and Stg£12,000 were seized in Co Louth.
Gardaí from the Dundalk Drugs and Crime unit carried out a surveillance operation in the Castlebellingham area yesterday and observed what they called “a suspicious transaction”.
A car was later stopped and the money and cocaine was found during a search.
A woman and three men, all aged in their 30s, were arrested at the scene and are being held at Dundalk and Drogheda garda stations.

Four firearms and €18,000 worth of cocaine were seized by gardaí in Dublin yesterday evening.
They were found during the search of a house and two cars in a residential estate in Finglas.
Gardaí found a handgun, ammunition and €18,000 of suspected cocaine, which was divided and bagged in small quantities, in one of the cars.
When searching the second car, a sawn-off Browning shotgun, SAKO rifle, Rifle 22 with scope, and ammunition were found.
The firearms have been sent to the Ballistics Unit for analysis and both vehicles have been seized by gardaí for further technical examination.

The search was carried following intelligence received relating to an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in the Finglas area.
