Four arrested in Killarney after Christmas Eve incident

Four arrests were made this morning in Killarney, Co Kerry following an assault and public order incident on Christmas Eve locally in Hazelwood Drive.

Four properties were searched as part of an investigation into allegations of criminality in the estate over the festive period.

During this morning’s operation, a number of items were seized, including baseball bats, slash hooks and pitchforks.

Two of the people arrested, a man and woman both aged in their 40s, are being detained in Killarney Garda Station.

Two other men, aged in their 20s, are being detained in Tralee Garda Station.

The four people arrested have been charged and are scheduled to appear before Mallow District Court tomorrow morning.

Gardaí said the investigation is ongoing.
