A right-wing political grouping was embarrassingly ‘ambushed’ by gardaí while holding an illegal gathering at a famed War of Independence battle site.
Ahead of the 100th anniversary of the celebrated Clonfin Ambush, gardaí shut down the unauthorised meeting.
A file is being prepared for charges to be brought for potential breaches of Covid-19 regulations banning gatherings and limiting travel to 5km from homes.
