Fred is addled: Ireland because of their attractive low taxation breaks is home to 8 out of the 10 major pharmaceutical companies in the world. Yet we are falling behind in getting the Pfizer BioNTech and Moderna vaccines which, we must note, are those which have been given as a priority in the UK which is forging ahead with the vaccinated population. However if there is a problem with AZ it will be those lower down the priority list ie the lesser beings that the Astra Zeneca is being rolled out for: Do we need to worry? Are we the dross of society and anything goes? The country which is forging ahead also is Israel. They have vaccinated majority of their population now with the BioNTech Pfizer and Moderna. The Times of Israel shows the rebirth of a Nation into post Pandemic Freedom!
Ireland wake up: We need to get up off our knees. We don’t need to be pawned off with a questionable Astra Zeneca (until science proves otherwise); we need access urgently to the other vaccines in particular the mRNA BioNTech Pfizer, Moderna and then there is Johnson & Johnson, coming on stream in April. We are small island economy, affected by BREXIT. The US could help us. It is not a begging bowl we offer but an economy who hosted so many US Companies who are now the technological leaders on the Stock Exchanges and whose wealth throughout the Pandemic has risen beyond anyone’s expectation.
St Patrick’s Day is Wednesday of this week. Zoom (technology) means there will be communication between President Biden, US, a man with many links to Ireland, and An Taoiseach Micheal Martin. “Opportunity comes to pass not to pause” is a quote from a wise man and I would say to An Taoiseach Micheal Martin, do not waste this opportunity to ask for BioNTech Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines to be sent to Ireland as soon as possible. 5 million people equates to 10 million vaccines; the media reports that you hold AZ 60 mn in Ohio in storage. Until AZ is approved we are not asking for same. Please allocate us Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna or schedule in Johnson & Johnson in April.
