A dopey drug dealing doppelganger of MMA star Conor McGregor has been banged up in England for almost three years.

Mark Nye (34) from Stanwell in Surrey, told cops his name was ‘Conor’ after he was scooped with class A drugs when driving while disqualified and without insurance.

When Nye was brought to the police station to have his mugshot taken, which has since been released by Surrey Police, his obsession with the notorious became clear.

Sporting a similar beard and haircut, some people might argue he bears a striking resemblance to McGregor.

Guildford Crown Court heard how cops witnessed Nye trying to chuck away a package of drugs as well as two mobile phones before they stopped him.

When they collared him and asked his name, Nye responded that his name was ‘Conor’.

When the police continued to search him they found he was also carrying several hundred business cards which read ‘McGregor Enterprise’ on one side and ‘best drops in Surrey’ on the other.

Nye was using the cards as a contact point for his drugs enterprise.

It was also heard officers who searched through Nye’s mobile phones found hundreds of messages linked to his drug dealing.

When cops went on to search his house, they found a large amount of boric acid, which is a cutting agent used by drug dealers to cut various drugs – a chemical that can have serious implications for drug users’ health.

The police also said they found a large meat cleaver at the side of Nye’s bed.

PC McGill of Surrey Police said: “Thanks to the work of our proactive drugs teams, we have taken yet another dealer off our streets and prevented Mark from causing further harm to the victims of his crimes.”

Nye was sentenced at Guildford Crown Court on April 9.
