Fundraiser launched for Dublin mother who was shot in front of daughter & left paralysed

A fundraiser has been set up for Dublin mother Sinead Connolly this week after she was shot and left paralysed from the chest down.

The 30-year-old mother of one was shot three times in front of her daughter while sitting in her own home and has spent more than two months in St James Hospital as a result.

Sinead’s sister Orla has since set up a GoFundMe to help raise money to pay for Sinead’s recovery and all future needs, as well as her daughter Leah’s.

The GoFundMe reads: ‘On Saturday the 6 of March Sinead Connolly was critically injured in her own home in Bluebell in Dublin in front of her 7-year-old daughter Leah.

‘Sinead was shot as she sat on her sofa in her own home in front of her daughter, the injuries Sinead [sustained] were critical but thankfully she is slowly on the road to recovery but her injuries are life-changing and catastrophic’

‘At present Sinead only has the use of her head and her arms.

‘Sinead was very lucky to survive this senseless attack in her family home in front of her young daughter.

Already, the fundraiser has earned more than €5,000 in donations, with the hope of making it to €10,000 to cover Sinead’s costs.
