Gang boss Cornelius Price remains on bail after the latest court hearing in London where he is due to go on trial for a kidnapping plot.

Officials at Wood Green Crown Court confirmed his case is next listed for mention on 19 November with the trial due to begin on 6 December.

Previously based in Louth, Price had spent seven months locked up on remand at HMP Dovegate until he got bail in March.

His is one of six people accused in the kidnap plot and the trial is expected to last at least eight weeks.

A case management hearing had been listed for hearing last week at Wood Green Crown Court.

Price (39), who is connected to the Maguire faction involved in the deadly Drogheda feud, is accused along with another associate, Mark Kavanagh (32).

Price and Kavanagh were among six people arrested last July 2020 following a major investigation by the West Midlands Organised Crime Unit.

Price is charged with two counts of conspiring to falsely imprison Muhammed and Shah Ali last July, as well as two counts of conspiring to blackmail both men on the same dates.

Drogheda man Kavanagh, whose address is listed as Manchester, is also charged with two counts of conspiracy to falsely imprison and two counts of conspiracy to blackmail.

Two other men, Darren McClean and Quincy Bramble, are charged with the kidnap of Muhammed Ali.

They are also charged with conspiring to unlawfully imprison Muhammed and Shah Ali, and detain them against their will, between July 7 and 17.

Price had been released from Wheatfield Prison in Dublin in May 2019 after serving a three-year-sentence for reckless endangerment of a garda in 2014 in which he drove a car at the officer.

His gang are the chief suspects the murders and disappearance of Willie Maughan, and his pregnant girlfriend Ana Varslavane, who were last seen at Price’s property in Gormanston, Co Meath in 2015.
