The celebrity chef’s 18-year-old has taken his driving career to an international level having signed with the Mauritius GP outfit in 2019, and now training in Japan to become a Formula One driver.

Rachel Allen told RSVP: ‘I’d give anything for a trip to Japan to see our son, who has residency there.

‘Lucca is racing there at the moment in Super Formula Lights so I’d love to be able to see him race — I really miss him. Of course, I worry about him, I worry about everything!’

The mother of three confessed that she was not such a worrier before she had children, adding: ‘I worry about his racing, especially if it is taking place during the middle of the night for us, which it often is.’Rachel Allen sitting on a table: Especially over the course of the pandemic, with travel restrictions keeping her from visiting, Rachel admits she has been worrying non-stop about Lucca. ‘So I wake up and am lying in bed and am praying to my dad in heaven to keep him safe. The safety levels are incredible now but of course you worry.

‘It’s nice that I have been there so I can picture what he is talking about and I adore Japanese.’

Rachel said that when she isn’t worried about her son on the other side of the world, she is bonding with her son Joshua and daughter Scarlett, getting them involved in the cooking at home.https://www.instagram.com/p/B4N_eh3noZx/embed/captioned/?cr=1&v=13&wp=500&rd=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.msn.com&rp=%2Fen-ie%2Fhealth%2Ffamilyhealth%2Fi-worry-about-him-rachel-allen-admits-her-son-lucca-s-career-keeps-her-up-at-night%2Far-AAKnb17%3Focid%3Dmsedgdhp#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A1353.8299999781884%2C%22ls%22%3A1202.4100000271574%2C%22le%22%3A1215.4899999732152%7D

‘We have spent more time than ever cooking at home over the past year’, she said.

‘I love eating so much that we usually have a few conversations during the day about what we will eat that night, and what is available.

‘The boys cook a bit and Scarlett, who is 12 now, loves baking and making sweet things — she makes great chocolate biscuit cakes. She can also make omelettes and quesadillas, while the boys cook great steaks and food they like to eat.’
