The Cadbury’s worldwide flake shortage has cast a dark cloud on our supposed summer of hope and it seems it’s already come into effect in the UK.

In what spells as bad news for Ireland, a man was enjoying the good weather at the Roaches in the UK when he thought he’d treat himself to a flake-topped ice cream.a piece of food: A man was left blistering with rage after he paid out £10 for two 99 ice-creams. However, the man was left in disbelief after he was £10 lighter for just two 99s.

‘The first and last time I pay £10 for two 99s. I know there’s a Flake shortage but come the f*** on!’ the unidentified man wrote on social media, according to Stroke-on-Trent Live.

The man complained that there was nowhere on the van that indicated a 99 ice cream was a fiver a-piece.a piece of cake on a plate: The man complained that there was nowhere on the van that indicated a 99 ice cream was a fiver a-piece. Following his scathing review, the owner was in touch to let him know they’ve taken his criticism on board.

I received an apology and assurances that pricing will now be clear on the vans. Hopefully, no one will be “price ambushed” moving forward.’

‘I even have them hidden under my bed. We have had to stockpile and just be really tough, saying sorry we cannot supply anyone else with them,’ she told RTÉ’s Today With Claire Byrne.

Ms Khan said Teddy’s became aware of the looming scarcity of flakes at the beginning of April, when Mondelez, the company that owns Cadbury, gave them advance warning.
