IAN Bailey called Sinead O’Connor a “She Devil” for bombarding him with taunting text messages.
But Bailey says he forgives her because he’s a Christian.
The Nothing Compares 2 U singer went on a bizarre Twitter rant against the journalist after she interviewed him last week.
But Bailey insists he’s ready to turn the other cheek, although he vowed to give his own side of the encounter in a new poem.
‘I FORGIVE HER’
He told the Irish Sun: “Sinead is a She Devil but I forgive her because I’m a Christian. I am going to give my own side of our meeting in an essay called How I Met The She Devil.”
The poet, 64 — the chief suspect in the 1996 murder of French woman Sophie Toscan du Plantier — also went public with new texts he claims to have received from Sinead, in which she told him: “You are a woman hating, woman blaming sleeveen of a devil worshipping maggot, and a moron who won’t shut up.
“I have to give it to you, you are a great actor . . . a great comedian but you gave yourself away with me and the Gardai are watching every iota of your behaviour.”
Sinead didn’t return requests for comment on Bailey’s claims when contacted by the Irish Sun last night.
The star went public in the Irish Sun last week over the interview, saying Bailey started out charming but allegedly became “quite aggressive”, a version of events he strongly denies.
She also said she fled a later dinner date with Bailey at the Perrin Inn, Glengarriff, Co Cork, after she claimed he hit the roof over a list of questions she had prepared, but Bailey said this was “absolute rubbish”.
