Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch has been arrested in Spain over the notorious 2016 Regency Hotel shooting that left one person dead.
Hutch was held by Spanish police after Ireland issued a European Arrest Warrant.

A group of men dressed in Garda uniforms and armed with AK47s stormed into a boxing weigh-in at the hotel, knowing that criminal Daniel Kinahan and several of his associates, would be there.
They killed Kinahan associate David Byrne, 34, from Crumlin.
Another gunman was seen running from the hotel with an associate dressed as a woman.
That second man was believed to be in disguise to enter into the boxing weigh-in and to identify key Kinahan figures. Gardaí believe the audacious attack was revenge for the September 2015 murder of 34-year-old Gary Hutch – the nephew of Gerry Hutch in Spain.
The Regency Hotel shootings marked a huge escalation in the dispute, which continued on with a series of brutal reprisal murders in Dublin, mostly directed at the Hutch family and their friends.
In total, 18 people have so far been killed in the bloody feud, which began with a dispute between Gary Hutch and several Kinahan crime figures living in Spain.© Provided by Extra.ie Gardaí had announced last April that they would be seeking his return to Ireland for questioning about the 2016 Regency Hotel shooting, which made headlines around the world. Gerry Hutch, 58, fled Ireland early in the feud and has been living in Spain for several years.
He previously reached a settlement with the Criminal Assets Bureau after a judgment of almost IR£2million was entered against him in court.
He also set up a limousine company called CAB, believed to be a joke reference to the Criminal Assets Bureau.
In 2019, Patrick Hutch, a brother of Gary, walked free from the Special Criminal Court after the State dropped charges against him for the murder of David Byrne.
Patrick Hutch denied being the man dressed as a woman seen running from the Regency Hotel after the shooting.
It is believed Gerry Hutch was detained in the Costa del Sol. He was last seen in the town of Fuengirola last May. His extradition was sought by the Garda team in Ballymun, which has been investigating the murder of David Byrne.
Gardaí submitted a file on the case to the Director of Public Prosecutions, who then applied to the High Court for a European Arrest Warrant for Hutch. He can contest his extradition or waive that right and return voluntarily to Ireland to face trial here.
He fled these shores soon after the Regency attack and has only been seen here once since, at the funeral of his brother Eddie, who was killed in the vicious feud.
Eddie Hutch was shot dead outside his home in the north inner city, where many of the Hutch family live and where several of them have been murdered.
Gardaí set up roadblocks in the area during the height of the feud in an attempt to stop the killings. They also drew up a list of about 90 potential targets, including members of the Hutch families and their associates.
