Outspoken TD Neale Richmond has welcomed the arrest of Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch last week – and hopes crime boss Daniel Kinahan will be next to be collared.
Hutch (58) is wanted by gardai investigating the murder of David Byrne at the Regency Hotel on February 5, 2016.
Speaking to The Star yesterday, Mr Richmond praised gardai and the Spanish cops for the detention of Hutch.
“I do welcome the arrest of Gerry Hutch and I am very supportive of the ongoing work of the gardai in tackling the Hutch-Kinahan feud,” the Fine Gael TD said.
“I am also calling that all support the gardai need continues and is forthcoming from the Government to bring these people to justice.
“The gardai have been excellent so far in dismantling the Kinahan cartel and the Hutch organisation that has cost so many lives, including those of innocent people, and we have already seen a lot of people go to the Special Criminal Court and to Portlaoise Prison.
“The ruling of the High Court is quite clear in relation to Daniel Kinahan and his activities. And I do hope to see him face the courts.”
Hutch is currently in custody in Madrid as Irish officials seek to extradite him.
