An investigation is underway by Gardai after a group of youths were involved in assault at a popular park in Dublin this week.

The assault happened at St Stephen’s Green park in Dublin 2 at approximately 6pm on Tuesday evening.

One of the boys was pushed into a lake in Stephens Green during the attack.

Onlookers reported that the group of five teenagers were left with black eyes.

Despite reports made about the assault incident, it is understood that Gardai have not made any arrests in connection with the incident.

A Garda spokesperson said in a statement: ‘I can confirm Gardaí are investigating an assault that occurred in St. Stephens Green at approximately 6pm on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.

‘A number of youths attacked a group of boys. Investigations ongoing.’
