Man, 60s, fighting for life after alleged assault in Limerick as gardai appeal for witnesses

A MAN in his 60s is fighting for his life after an alleged assault in Limerick earlier today.
The victim who is in a critical condition after receiving serious injuries following the suspected attack at Bishop’s Quay is being treated at University Hospital Limerick.
Gardai said no arrests have been made and that the investigation is ongoing.
In a statement they said: “Gardai are appealing for witnesses following an alleged assault at Bishop’s Quay in Limerick this morning, Friday, 29th October 2021.
“The incident occurred at approximately 11.45am and resulted in a man, aged in his 60s, receiving serious injuries.
“He was later taken to University Hospital Limerick where his current condition is described as critical.
“No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing.
“Gardai are appealing for anyone who was in the Bishop’s Quay and Dock Road area and who may have witnessed this incident, to come forward to them.”
