Our capital and there are people without enough food to see themselves and their families through this already ill-fated Christmas due to the attack on 26th November, of a highly infectious variant, of COVID-19. The Capuchins, Mendicity, Knights of Columbanus and so many more are hidden from view but people know they will gain some food and goodwill over this harsh 2021 Christmas. Please be alert and willing to share. There are homeless people lying in many doorways and along the canal of our beautiful but cruel city. Anthony Flynn RIP. ICHH catered for so many people but the charities regulator thought differently about letting it continue. There must be many people who are without due to this catastrophe involving Owen Keegan DCC.

People Queue to be fed at a soup kitchen in Dublin

Every year, volunteers provide dinner to hundreds of poor and homeless people around Dublin and this year several charities are set to continue the condition by hosting pop up mobile kitchens and foodbanks.

Here are all the organisations and groups around Dublin who are planning on hosting a soup kitchen, pop up kitchen or foodbank over Christmas:

The Knights of St Columbanus

Over the last 96 years, the Knights of St Columbanus have provided Christmas Day dinner to over 3,400 people every year through sit down meals and a home delivery service for the homeless and those in need in the community.

The Knights of St Columbanus, who host the event, have made the decision to instead invite Dublin’s homeless, and anyone in need, to attend their pop-up mobile kitchen outside the Mansion House this Christmas Day.

People can attend the mobile kitchen between 10am and 1pm to receive a traditional festive takeaway meal while following all Covid-19 restrictions.

Volunteers will also dispatch some 3,000 pre-prepared Christmas dinners and goodie bags from the RDS, as they have done for the last several years. Most Read1Dublin pubs: Popular city centre gastro bar to shut on New Year’s Eve after 13 years in business2Lotto results Ireland: Dublin store that sold life-changing ticket during Saturday’s draw named3Pregnant Dublin partner of Mark Hall heard fatal gunshots during couple’s final phone call
