Psycho’ squirrel sparks reign of terror after attacking 18 people

 29th December 2021

A rogue squirrel went on the rampage terrorising a town and injuring 18 people before it was finally caught.

The ferocious rodent sunk its sizeable front teeth into pensioners, children and even pets after reportedly turning ‘psycho’.

According to reports it was so out of control it was even ‘throwing itself’ at people and chasing them down the street.A rogue squirrel went on the rampage terrorising a town and injuring 18 people before it was finally caught. Peace was only restored to Buckley in Flintshire, North Wales when the RSPCA took the animal away.

Unfortunately, it had to be put down as it was not deemed safe to be released.

Grandmother, Corrine Reynolds, 65, said she had been feeding the animal before it went berserk. The ferocious rodent sunk its sizeable front teeth into pensioners, children and even pets after reportedly turning ‘psycho’. The mum-of-seven said she started to notice numerous reports of attacks in the area on social media.

At one point Corrine said she counted a grand total of 18 attacks on locals including one man who had to be taken to hospital to be treated for a bite to the hand.

She explained: ‘He has started attacking people who are just taking their recycling bags to the bin and they are quite gruesome injuries.According to reports it was so out of control it was even ‘throwing itself’ at people and chasing them down the street. ‘He’s not a friendly natured squirrel I am afraid, he is a rogue one and I am starting to wonder if he has got something going on inside his head like a tumour.

‘The speed of it is frightening, he dashes from the roof of my garden shed to me – but when he does it everyone else, he bites them.

‘It has even bit an elderly person in the area. On one occasion it chased a lad down the road and then dad was left with a bloody cut on his head.

‘He is now attacking people for no reason whatsoever. The front tooth breaks the skin in a quite lethal way. I still have a scar on my finger.’

Corinne told Metro there was widespread relief the squirrel had been handed over the RSPCA as she finally felt it was safe to venture into her garden.

She explained: ‘It has not been nice for me, and others, to scan their garden before they can even go out.

‘If I want to clean my rabbit out, I had to let all four of my dogs out first. It has been quite a scary time for the area.’
