A dangerous drug dealing mob are behind a car recovery company,
Investigators believe the thugs, based in Dublin, are trying to use it as a front to their narcotics business.
The gang has been embroiled in a number of disputes in recent years including against former members of the Westies and Mr Flashy’s Finglas group.
They are also behind a number of social media pages from which they flog cheap cans and vodka with a hefty mark-up.
It was well-known that they have used the page to sell cocaine, but at one stage during the pandemic they were openly promoting it.
But they have also set up this car recovery firm, which is registered as a business.
Gardai fear that they will use the business to move drugs and weapons across the capital
A source said: “This gang is led by a small group of individuals who have access to drugs and arms.
“The leaders often then use low-level associates to carry out jobs for them.
“There is a concern that this company might be used to move drugs and firearms but also for money laundering.
“But gardai in their area are well-aware of their activities in organised crime.
“They are significant operators in the drugs trade in the Dublin area.”
A way the mob works is to bury drugs and firearms in wasteland before sending associates to collect them when needed.
One of the mob’s leaders is out on bail and before the courts on serious charges over a feud-related incident.
He is considered incredibly volatile but has been keeping his head down over the Christmas period.
The gang nearly became embroiled in another dispute in recent months with brute Jason O’Connor and his pals after his relative was attacked.
But following peace talks, the anger surrounding the situation calmed down.
