Gardaí launch investigation after women in her 80s found dead in Dublin residence

Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body of a woman in her 80s at a residence on Seville Place Dublin 1 on Wednesday.

A woman in her 40s has been arrested on suspicion of murder in relation to the incident.

Gardaí attended the scene of the incident at approximately 11.50 am. A woman in her 80s was found deceased inside the residence with fatal injuries sustained. The scene is currently being preserved and a technical examination will be carried out by the Garda Technical Bureau.

She is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Store Street Garda station.

Gardaí in Store Street are appealing to any one who may have information in relation to this incident to contact them.
