A Wexford woman who has cerebral palsy and a spinal injury, was left lying helpless in a distraught state in her urine-soaked bed with no food or water for 21 hours, because the company which the HSE pays to provide her with homecare, could not find a replacement carer on Sunday when the person who was due to look after her contracted Covid.
Sharon Colgan (51) of Shanna Court, Wexford has been left traumatised by the experience which she described as “inhuman” and is highlighting her situation because she said: “this cannot be allowed to happen again to me or to anyone else.”
