A former solicitor has been remanded on bail for sentence next November after he admitted to stealing cash from a number of people.

David Doyle (68) with an address at Castletown Cross, Claremorris, Co Mayo pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to four charges of stealing cash, totalling just over €53,000, on dates between April 2009 and November 2016.

Diana Stuart BL, prosecuting told the court that the pleas were entered “on a without prejudice basis” and the State would require further guilty pleas.

Judge Melanie Greally remanded Doyle on continuing bail and adjourned sentence to November 10 next when evidence will be heard.

She ordered victim impact statements for that date.
