Man arrested after ‘anti-social behaviour’ suspends train servic – 2h ago

A man has been arrested following ‘anti social behaviour’ which led to Irish Rail trains being temporarily suspended.

Shortly after 3pm on Tuesday afternoon, services through the Sydney Parade train station in Sandymount had to be paused while waiting for Gardaí to arrest the man.

Officers arrived shortly before 3.30pm, and one man was arrested under public order legislation. He was brought to Irishtown Garda station.

The train services resumed following the arrest, but faced delays of up to 25 minutes.

‘Gardaí arrested a male under public order legislation at Sydney Parade Train Station in Sandymount today, 7 June 2022, at 4pm,’ a statement from Gardaí said.

‘He was conveyed to the Irish Town Garda Station and remains detained at this time.’
