‘Tick list’ and €1,600 cocaine allegedly found in Dublin home

 27th July 2022

Gardaí searching a man’s home found more than €1,600 worth of cocaine, €6,000 in cash and a “tick list”, it has been alleged.

Alan Fitzpatrick (38) is facing drugs charges following the seizure at his house in west Dublin.

Judge Gerard Jones adjourned the case for the accused to consider how he intends to plead.

Mr Fitzpatrick is charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell or supply at his home at Shancastle Avenue in Clondalkin, Dublin, on November 11, 2020. He is also charged with a related count of simple possession of the drug in the same incident.

Blanchardstown District Court heard the Director of Public Prosecutions consented to the case being dealt with at district court level on a plea of guilty.

The judge asked for an outline of the prosecution’s case so he could consider the issue of jurisdiction.

Garda Sergeant Maria Callaghan said the accused’s home was searched under a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant on the day in question.

It was alleged cocaine with a value of €1,630 was found, along with cash, a weighing scales and a “tick list” – a list of drug users who owed him money.

The judge said he would accept jurisdiction to deal with the case if the accused pleads guilty. He remanded Mr Fitzpatrick on continuing bail to a date in October.

If the accused decides to contest the charges, the case will be sent for trial to Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
