A sex beast jailed for attacks on five women will be deported on his release from prison, it has been revealed.

Polish roofer Slowamir Gierlowski has been described by a female who fought him off at knifepoint as “more dangerous than Larry Murphy”. The dad-of-two was serving 28 and a half years and was this week given another six years for attempting to strangle a young woman out walking in 2011.

Ruth Maxwell, who was held at knifepoint by Gierlowski as she walked to the Luas to go to work, said he was a “serial killer in the making”.

She told Irish Sunday Mirror: “He had cable ties and duct tape in the van, and a hunting knife. He never said a word during the whole thing. He was trying to get the cloth into my mouth and get me down on the ground.

“When he couldn’t he moved the knife from my chin to my throat. I firmly believe he was going to slit my throat.”

Gierlowski’s legal team lodged an appeal against his latest conviction on Thursday and Ruth believes he poses a grave danger when he gets out. Ruth, who severed the tendons in her hand pulling the knife away, said: “Is he as dangerous as Larry Murphy? Yes, absolutely, possibly more dangerous.

“He left the Hague abruptly and came here in 2008. There’s five years of his movements unaccounted for. They don’t know has he murdered. This hunger is so extreme, there’s no way he could not have attacked anyone in those years. He’s a hunter, this is what he does for pleasure, he’s a primal animal out hunting for prey.”

Ruth hit out at the lack of supports for victims and said the onus should be on rehabilitating them rather than the offender. And she described her dealings with the criminal injuries compensation tribunal for loss of earnings as “worse than the attack itself”.

She said: “I’m not worried about him getting out early, he’s too dangerous. I hope that people realise that when he’s released that that deportation order will be put in place.

“He will never be back in this country. But the worry is he’ll be 59 when he’s released – he won’t be a threat to women in Ireland but he’ll be a threat to women in other EU states.

“What’s to stop him beefing up in the gym and thinking, ‘I can go hunting again’? He’ll be dying to attack some woman when he gets out. He thinks he’s done nothing wrong because he’s an animal.

“He thinks all men behave like this, he’s born this way. He must have that MAOA gene, all serial killers have it.”

At an earlier hearing, Mr Justice Michael White described Gierlowski as “highly dangerous” and said he was intent on imposing consecutive sentences. Ruth criticised the legal system for the delay in dealing with the latest case which was put back until Gierlowski’s appeal for an earlier conviction was finalised.

She said: “There were 150 court appearances and two victims had to face him in court for each and every one of those. I was there in May for the final part of the appeal and I’ll never forget how he looked. He looked like an old man. He was going bald, his eyes were black and he looked like a completely broken human being.

“When he was first arrested he was tanned, fit, cocky, a big ego. My thought up to then was my life has been destroyed. That changed that day.
