Two runaway brothers who were blamed for starting the Drogheda drugs feud which left four people dead have vowed never to return home.

The pair have now settled permanently in Mexico and have built a new life for themselves out there.

A number of their close relatives and friends have flown over and back to visit them over the past 12 months and gardai are aware of their movements.

Death threats were issued against the brothers, both in their mid to late twenties, after the savage murder of 17-year-old Keane Mulready-Woods in January 2020.

The two men then went into hiding and fled Ireland several weeks later.

They first lived in the Malaga area before fleeing to Turkey and then onto Mexico.

Two other men are now due to stand trial in the new year over the murder of tragic Drogheda teenager.

A third person known to be involved, notorious hitman Robbie Lawlor, was executed in Belfast in retaliation a few months after Mulready-Woods’ death.

Lawlor and the two brothers were on the same side in the bitter drugs feud against a rival Travellers gang.

A senior Garda source said: “They have absolutely no intention of coming back to Ireland because they know there will be a queue of people who want to kill them.

“The Drogheda feud has gone relatively quiet since they left.

“Most of the main players in the local drugs war are either dead, in jail, or left the country.

“We have put huge pressure on the whole lot of them from both sides of the feud.

“We have an idea where these two brothers are.

“There are warrants for their arrest if they come back to Ireland but no international arrest warrant has been issued for them yet. That is not to say that it won’t be sought and issued at some stage.
