THE sister of assault victim Sharon Crean has branded her killing ‘a nightmare before Christmas’.
She added: “I don’t know how we’re going to get over it.”
Gardai believe tragic Sharon – the mum of two-year-old boy Lorcan – was stabbed.
Speaking to the Irish Sun, sister Tara Cullen told us: “We are going to miss her so much.
“I don’t know what I’m going to do without her. We’re all going to miss her and I don’t know how we’re going to get over it.
“It is a nightmare, it really is, the week before Christmas.”
Sharon, who had lived in Mountmellick for some time but is understood to have been originally from Portlaoise, was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The Office of the State Pathologist have been notified and a post-mortem examination was being carried out today.
Cops believe Sharon died in violent circumstances, with the Garda Technical Bureau remaining at the scene at College Avenue in Mountmellick today.
A man in his 30s was later arrested and is being quizzed at Portlaoise Garda Station.
As the garda probe continued, Sharon’s devastated family and friends told of their shock at little Lorcan losing his beloved mam just a week before Christmas.
Sister Elaine Crean said: “Rip sis you’re gonna be missed.
“I can’t put in words what we’re going through.
“One thing’s for sure, we’re gonna get you justice, I promise you that.
“We had our arguments but no matter what you were my big sister and I loved you so much.
“Fly high Sharon, till we meet again you’re up with Terry and daddy now with our angels.”
Family members admitted their hearts were “shattered”.
It is understood Sharon had recently lost another baby.
Sister Kim said: “Rip Sharon my beautiful sister. I am going to miss you so much. You were everything to me, was only talking to you this morning (weds).
“My heart is broke, can’t believe it, you are with your baby and daddy now xxxxxxxxxx.”
Pals told how Sharon was regularly spotted out with son Lorcan in Mountmellick, including in the run-up to her death.
