A man has been charged after gardai seized a loaded gun and illegal drugs in Ballyfermot this weekend.

Another man, who was arrested, has been released without charge. Officers made the arrests after a loaded semi-automatic pistol and a small amount of cocaine were found during a search operation on Saturday.

One man, 30s, will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice, Court number three on Monday morning at 10.30am. A garda spokeswoman said: “The second man (30s) has been released without charge and a file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

“Investigations ongoing.”
