Stolen car ploughs into Garda and carries him for a distance in shocking scenes in Wexford

A Garda is injured after being hit and ‘carried for a distance’ by a stolen car.

The shocking scenes unfolded on Monday night in Co Wexford, as gardai responded to a report of a car being stolen from a residential premises in Gorey.

During the early hours of this morning, they located the vehicle which was parked in the Willow Park estate.

As officers approached the vehicle on foot, the driver drove it away. But while attempting to stop the car, a Garda was “carried by the vehicle for a distance before falling”.

The Garda was taken to Wexford General Hospital, where he was treated for shoulder and arm injuries.
