“Dirty Dublin”. Clean it up. Stop drinking/drug culture resulting in assaults. There are too many. Nobody talks about the affects of brain injury; there are too many who have died as a result of physical assaults and people don’t seem to care.

Three men seriously injured in separate assaults in Dublin City Centre

Three men have been seriously injured in two separate assaults in Dublin City Centre

A man, aged in his late 30s, is in a ‘serious’ condition following an assault in Dublin on New Year’s Day.

The victim was found on Aston Quay shortly before 1 pm on Sunday, January 1.

The injured man was taken to hospital via ambulance where his condition is believed to be serious.

A statement from An Garda Síochána confirmed that the scene of the incident has been preserved for examination by investigating officers.

‘No arrests have been made to date,’ Gardaí confirmed as they added enquiries were ongoing.

Elsewhere in Dublin, two men aged in their 20s were also hospitalised following a serious assault on Anne’s Lane, Dublin 2 on New Year’s night.

Gardaí confirmed that following a ‘follow-up search of the area’ two men, aged in their early 20s, were arrested.

A statement from An Garda Síochána confirmed: ‘They were taken to Pearse Street Garda station where they were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

‘Both men have since been charged in relation to the assault and are due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice, Court Number 3 this morning Monday, January 2 at 10.30am.’

Gardaí added: ‘Investigations ongoing.’
