Gardai launch investigation after two men stabbed in Dublin City

Gardaí have launched an investigation following an assault where two men were stabbed in Dublin City on Sunday evening.

The incident, which occurred outside a pub in, Dublin 1, occurred at 7pm on Sunday evening (April 9).

A video of the incident, seen by Extra.ie, has been shared online — showing a number of men fighting and throwing bar stools at each other, while one woman flees for cover. Two of the men fall to the ground, while another man, dressed in a grey hoodie and shorts, rushes to the scene brandishing a knife.

The man in the hoodie and shorts proceeds to slash at the two men on the ground, before stabbing a third man who was trying to break up the fight in the thigh. He then stabs one of the men involved in the altercation, wearing a grey tracksuit, before the video stops.

Gardaí have confirmed that the two men, both in their 30s, suffered injuries during the assault, both of which are non life-threatening.

‘Gardaí attended an incident of assault that occurred at approximately 8:50pm on the 9th of April 2023 on Liffey Street Lower in Dublin City,’ a statement from Gardaí said.

A video of the incident shows two men, later treated for non life threatening injuries, getting stabbed in the leg.

‘Two men, both aged in their 30s, were treated for non-life threatening injuries. No arrests have been made in relation to this incident. Enquiries are ongoing.’
