Two men arrested as part of Garda probe into multiple incidents of fraud at retail premises nationwide

GARDAI have arrested two men as part of investigations into multiple incidents of suspected fraud nationwide.
The incidents occurred at retail premises specialising in building materials between January and March 2023.

The two men, aged in their 20s and 50s, were arrested on Friday in Co Tipperary.
They were detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at a Garda Station in Co. Tipperary and have since been charged.
Both men are due to appear before a special sitting of Newcastle West District Court this afternoon.
In a statement today, a Gardai spokesperson said: “As part of ongoing investigations into multiple incidents of suspected fraud nationwide, Gardaí arrested two men (aged in their 50s and 20s) on Friday, 14th April 2023.
“The incidents occurred at retail premises specialising in building materials between January and March 2023.
“The arrested men were detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at a Garda Station in Co. Tipperary and have since been charged.
“Both men are due to appear before a special sitting of Newcastle West District Court today, Sunday 16th April 2023, at 3.45pm.”
