A GSOC investigator who attended a party to celebrate Gerry Hutch’s acquittal has told pals: “I’ve done nothing wrong.”
The officer can also now leave the country if he wants after he was released without charge today.

The investigator, aged in his 60s, has received support from people he has met since he rented a room in north Dublin from a pensioner.
He was arrested by cops on Thursday who are now investigating concerns he was passing info to the Hutch Organised Crime Group, which it’s understood he has denied.
His house was searched and electronic devices were seized.
One north Dublin resident said: “The talk is that he is maintaining his innocence and is determined to see this thing through and cooperate.

“There are people he has met during his time here and they are standing by him.
“There is also support for Gerry Hutch because his family are seen as good neighbours where they live.
“The GSOC investigator is well regarded and he could leave Ireland now because he has been released without charge.”
Although the officer has been released without charge, the probe is continuing.
Cops are trying to establish if he was in contact with any associates of The Monk, who was found not guilty of the Regency murder of David Byrne.
They are also seeing what info he had access to including any information relating to the tragic death of Det Supt Colm Fox in February 2018.
At the time of his death, the top cop was looking into Byrne’s murder.
