A man was arrested after €110,000 worth of cannabis and cash were found following the search of a car.
Gardai stopped a car in Ballinteer, Dublin 16 and performed a search which yielded a small quantity of cannabis.
Following the car search, officers carried out a second search at a property in the same area.
During the follow-up Gardai found the larger quantity of cannabis, €2,000 in cash and other drug paraphernalia.
A Garda spokesperson said: ‘Shortly before 8pm last night, Tuesday, March 2, Gardaí stopped a vehicle in Ballinteer and conducted a search of the vehicle and person and a small quantity of cannabis was recovered.
‘A follow up search was conducted at a property in Ballinteer, and cannabis herb (pending analysis) with a street value in excess of €110,000 was seized, along with €2,000 in cash and other drug paraphernalia.
‘A man in his 20s has been arrested in relation to the seizure and is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Dundrum Garda station.
‘Investigations are ongoing.’
