‘Dangerous driver’ found with stash of drugs was disqualified already

A driver in Portlaoise who was pulled over for dangerous driving and was found with a stash of drugs had already been disqualified, Gardai found.

The driver was stopped when a car was spotted by Gardai being driven dangerously.

When officers pulled the vehicle over, they checked the driver’s credentials and discovered that they had already been disqualified from driving.

A search was conducted and €3,000 worth of cannabis was also discovered.

A Garda spokesperson said: ‘Portlaoise Garda on patrol this evening observed a dangerous driver.

‘They stopped and spoke with the driver, who was discovered to be disqualified driver!

‘On searching vehicle discovered approximately €3,000 worth of cannabis. Arrested and brought to Portlaoise Garda Station.’
