Fine Gael TD Charlie Flanagan congratulated ex-Corrie star Helen Flanagan and her fiancé, footballer Scott Sinclair, on the birth of their baby boy.
The couple has christened their first son Charlie with the former Minister for Justice joking that he may be the child’s namesake.
‘Big congrats to ex-Corrie star Helen Flanagan & former Chelsea & Celtic player Scott Sinclair on birth of baby boy Charlie,’ he wrote on Twitter.
‘Not sure if he’s called after me or Charlie Nicholas!!’
Charlie Nicholas is a former Scottish football player who played for both Celtic and Arsenal 
While others laughed at the tweet, some have found the congratulations ‘odd’.

‘We are in such a love bubble we couldn’t be more in love with our beautiful little boy, we can not stop staring at him,’ Helen wrote on her Instagram.
‘The girls just love him so much. We are absolutely besotted with our perfect little prince.’
