Armed gardai storm Westmeath house as massive drugs operation sees items seized
The dramatic raids took place this morning in Westmeath

A number of armed Garda officers raided a number of locations in the midlands as part of a massive investigation into the sale of illegal drugs in the area.
This morning, gardai associated with the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) targeted one residential and two professional addresses in Westmeath.
They received assistance from the Eastern Region Armed Response Unit.
These raids resulted in the following items being seized by officers
- A 211 registration BMW (valued at approximately €50,000)
- €12,000 in cash
- A bank account containing €9,400 was also restrained.
A Garda spokesperson commented: “This morning’s search operation was a significant development in an ongoing Criminal Assets Bureau investigation targeting an Organised Crime Group, based in the midlands, involved in the sale and supply of controlled drugs.”
