Posted by Man in his 20s arrested following seizure of €65,000 worth of cocaine
Gardai have arrested a man aged in his 20s following the seizure of approximately €65,000 worth of suspected cocaine.
Shortly after 9pm on Thursday, Gardai in Sligo Garda Station searched a property in Sligo town under warrant.
During the search operation, Gardai discovered and seized a large quantity of white powder, which is suspected to be cocaine, and which has been sent for analysis.
The suspected cocaine is believed to have an approximate value of €65,000.
In addition, Gardai discovered a small quantity of cannabis at the address, which was seized alongside mobile phones and weighing scales.
A man aged in his mid-20s was arrested at the scene, and has been detained at Ballymote Garda Station under the provisions of Section Two of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana confirmed that an investigation into the seizure is ongoing.
