
Cabbed Gardai seize €60,000 of cannabis and arrest man after drugs thrown out of taxi

A man caught throwing €10,000 worth of cannabis out of a taxi in Lucan yesterday has been arrested and charged.
The man (20) flung a number of items from the vehicle after spotting a Garda patrol car on Ballyowen Road in Lucan on Saturday afternoon.
Officers from Lucan Garda station stopped the cab and seized two phones and cannabis with an estimated street value of €10,000 that had been thrown from the vehicle.
The man was arrested and taken to Ronanstown Garda station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

During a follow up search under warrant, a property was searched in Lucan and 2.5kg of cannabis with an estimated street value of €50,000 was discovered.
The man has since been charged in relation to the seizure and was released on bail.
He is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court, Court on Thursday 17th June, 2021 at 10.30am.
Investigations are ongoing.
