A 30-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his father.
Gareth Sheeran, with an address at Carriglea View in Firhouse, was remanded in custody for a week after appearing at Tallaght District Court.
Gareth Sheeran is accused of murdering Harry Sheeran at his home on Sunday night.
The 65-year-old father of two was stabbed to death in his house.

Yesterday in the Irish Examiner another case was reported only this time it was a 31 year old son who savagely beat up his mother, who is still fighting for her life. The mother is a retired school teacher in her early 60’s. Psychiatry is in the dock these days and should be. There are too many murders, attacks, stabbings and the defence too often is Psychiatric related. The defence in the case outlined in the Irish Examiner put forward that the son was a paranoid schizophrenic, who was not taking his medications, and it was further confirmed that he had substance abuse. This raises so many questions.
