Ian Bailey has struck up a ‘connection’ with a woman who once married the ghost of a pirate – and is “flattered” that she’s interested in him.

Amanda Large, who once made headlines around the world for her extremely unusual marriage, says she’s struck up a “deep” connection with Bailey and speaks to him “almost every day.”

A WOMAN who ‘married’ the Johnny-Depp lookalike ghost of a 300-year-old pirate is selling a portrait of her former lover.

Amanda Large, 45, married ghost Jack Teague at sea within two years of ‘meeting’ him.

But she says the spook made her physically ill and she had to perform an exorcism to get rid of his malevolent spirit.

Now she also wants to get rid of anything that reminds her of Jack – including a picture of him she bought five years ago.

Amanda said: “After the exorcism a lot of the stuff was burned but I couldn’t bring myself to burn or get rid of the painting, it’s definitely haunted.

“I’ve moved on and I know especially at this time of the year some people collect such items so rather than just destroy it I would rather it go to someone who wants it.”

‘I’VE MOVED ON’

Amanda from Drogheda, Co Louth, but living in Downpatrick, ‘met’ Jack in 2014 when his apparition appeared beside her in bed.

She was immediately taken with the spook, who she claims looks like Pirates of the Caribbean character Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp.

Jack, a Haitian pirate from the 1700s was executed for being a thief on the high seas.

He began appearing regularly before Amanda  realised she fancied him and they began having sex.

After two years of dating, Amanda told him she wanted commitment and he agreed to marry her.

In 2016, Amanda hired a registrar and sailed into international waters so she could legally marry him – using a spiritual medium to allow him to say “I do” during the ceremony.

However, after two years of marriage Amanda started suffering from health problems and started to get recurring abscesses.

After three weeks, the sores got so bad that Amanda had to be rushed to hospital for surgery.

In May 2018 she developed sepsis.

‘I ALMOST DIED’

She said: “I almost died and I was in the hospital for a week.”

But Amanda says her spooky partner tried to kill her when she ended their relationship.

She underwent an exorcism in December 2018 after Jack possessed her.

The painting is being kept in a store room by Amanda as she fears having it too near her.

She said: “Some of Jack’s energy was put into Jack’s picture as a physical representation of him as I couldn’t see him with my eyes.

“When you look at this painting, it has eyes that seem to follow you around the room and you do get a chill up your spine when you look at it.”

Amanda has put the item up for sale Ebay and hopes to raise £500 for local animal rescue charities.
