‘The facts in the public domain don’t square with the Anthony Flynn I know’

The crowd spread from the front door of Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH), down the steps and on to the busy street, bringing lines of traffic almost to a halt. There were volunteers and staff from the homeless charity in yellow vests, friends, young people, old people, babies in buggies, a smattering of local politicians.
There were no big speeches, but people lit candles in paper lanterns and sent them up into the sky, singing songs, belting out ‘Something Inside So Strong’.
One of the hosts of the event addressed the crowd: “Everyone in the north inner city looked after Anto, because that’s the way he was. You are all his family.”
