Man arrested with firearm in Carlow now being quizzed over teen’s murder

A man who was arrested on Tuesday evening with a gun in Carlow is now being formally questioned over the fatal shooting of Wexford teenager Conor O’Brien, 19.a man sitting on a couch© Provided by Extra.ie

Gardai were called to to a bar in Carlow Town and recovered a gun yesterday evening at around 10pm and arrested a man.

Last Friday morning, Mr O’Brien’s body was found in the driveway of a property where he had recently been living on the Trim Road, Enfield.

Mr O’Brien had been living in a self-contained apartment at the back of a house owned by a family member for some time. He was due to start an apprenticeship as a blacksmith in Limerick in the coming weeks and was about to move to the county.
