RTE Prime Time viewers disappointed with Miriam O’Callaghan’s Leo Varadkar interview

Miriam O’Callaghan spoke to the Tanaiste about the latest Covid-19 announcements made yesterday.

Prime Time viewers were not happy with Tuesday night’s interview with Leo Varadkar.

Miriam O’Callaghan spoke to the Tanaiste about the latest Covid-19 announcements made yesterday, however viewers were disappointed with the exchange.

Taoiseach Michael Martin revealed that the easing of certain restrictions would go ahead on October 22.

Nightclubs will reopen this Friday, however there will be rules around capacity and vaccine passes.

There was widespread confusion over the exact rules around pubs and nightclubs. The Taoiseach confirmed there will be “anomalies” and different measures in place depending on the setting.

Leo Varadkar appeared on Prime Time to address the confusion around the new restrictions.

However, many viewers felt Miriam O’Callaghan’s interview was a “soft touch” and would have preferred to see Sarah McInerney take on the Tanaiste.
