Revenue sniffer dogs help find drugs worth €366,000 during searches at two Dublin premises

Revenue officers have seized drugs worth an estimated €366,000 during two searches in Dublin today.
Revenue has confirmed that during routine profiling, officers examining parcels at two premises in Dublin seized just over 17.8kg of herbal cannabis, two litres of synthetic cannabinoids, 5,130 Diazepam tablets and 40 Benzodiazepine tablets.
It said the illegal drugs were discovered with the assistance of detector dogs Sam and Bailey and the drugs were concealed in parcels labelled as ‘ornaments’, ‘dolls’, ‘Christmas gifts’, ‘candles’, ‘lego’, ‘tea’ and ‘clothes’.
Revenue said the parcels originated from the United States, Spain, Thailand, Lithuania, France, Canada and the United Kingdom and were destined for addresses in Dublin, Galway, Cavan, Limerick, Kerry, Wexford, Carlow, Sligo, Kildare, Cork and Meath.
It said the seizures are part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting the importation of illegal drugs and investigations are ongoing.
