Posted by Fred is weary but his introduction to twitter recently tells him that people are venting Truth by way of social media, some use Facebook (but less popular now); others use Twitter which is highly effective when there is a theme involved like urban abandonment and dereliction. Recommend (Frank O’Connor, Jude, Sherry, Anois and there is of course Peter McVerry Trust, EcoEye, Rory Hearne and many more. The message is we have so many derelict properties. There are schemes like Repair & Lease which get properties back into circulation in three months. Henry Kissinger was interviewed by Schmidt of Google. What he said is that the computer has caused a problem…the facts flow fast and they boomerang into nothingness. The older wiser way, he thought, was to get the facts then conceptualise around them and raise questions and get answers but he did add that this involved having an interconnectedness. Our Government is not leading in a way that fosters this between Govt departments. It is time to stop the silos (and this does not mean we need more spats in Reilly’s bar between O’Brien (housing) and Watt (health). We need solutions now.
