The US only yesterday agreed to release $3.5 billion of Afghanistan’s own money but held in foreign hands. The people are starving, little babies have frozen to death in night air. We cannot morally enter into more wars. US and Russia re Afghanistan have “blood on their hands”. No doubt what they sought were the mineral resources like lithium and then the cheap labour. Both Russia and America failed in Afghanistan but at what price to the people. The UK must also admit to blood on their hands too. Thankfully the Afghanistan Taliban have women in exile who shun their extremism and who have their voice and courage. “Noorzai became a local celebrity in Helmand, ridiculed and respected at the same time.
