Two Daniel Kinahan boxers see result referred to UK police after ‘corruption’ accusation

The controversial defeat of Jack Catterall by Josh Taylor has been referred to police in the UK by the Speaker of the House of Commons.

Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Catterall’s MP in Chorley, said he was ‘disgusted’ by the split decision and has lodged official complaints, while adding that UK ministers are looking into the result.

Both fighters are represented by Daniel Kinahan‘s MTK Global.

On the night, two judges’ decisions to score the undisputed super-lightweight title fight for champion Taylor unleashed a wave of criticism.

Speaking to Sportsmail, Hoyle said: ‘Everyone is disgusted by what’s happened – it brings the sport into disrepute.

‘I have to question why the judges got it so wrong? I have already sent a letter to the police.

‘I also believe that something seriously went on here – whether it was undue influence, one must question why?’

Catterall said after the fight he was the victim of a corrupt system.
