Ian Kenneth Bailey is a Manchester born freelance journalist and poet who has lived in West Cork, Ireland for 30 years. In 1997 he was falsely accused of Ireland’s most notorious murder. In 2007 he went to University College Cork to study law. He graduated in 2010 with a BCL (Hons) and then went on to study an LLB and then a Master’s LLM. This paper is his First Class Master’s Thesis. Ian continues to live and write in West Cork where 25 years since the crime he continues to protest his innocence and the fight to clear his name. This paper will be of interest to lawyers, solicitors, barristers, law students and lay people.
