Viewers experience deja vu as Claire Byrne presents from her shed again

 5th April 2022

Last night’s Claire Byrne Live had a sense of deja vu as the presenter hosted Monday’s episode from her shed for the second time.

Claire tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time since the start of the pandemic, and as a result is isolating at her home. She previously tested positive for COVID-19 in March 2020, and hosted the show from her garden shed in what was described as ‘an iconic TV moment.’

Viewers were left less than impressed this time around, however, with many viewers taking to social media to crack jokes about Claire hosting the show from her shed.Last night’s Claire Byrne Live had a sense of deja vu as the presenter hosted Monday’s episode from her shed for the second time. Some users pointed out the history repeating itself, with one user tweeting ‘Claire Byrne is back in the shed! 2020 dejavu.’

Another said that they thought they were back in the first lockdown, saying ‘Claire Byrne presenting live from her shed again, Jesus, was just dragged by the hair back to the first lockdown.’

Others joked about Claire being back in the shed, including possibly ‘evicting’ the family lawnmower.

‘Feeling sorry for Claire Byrne’s lawnmower. Homeless again,’ one person tweeted, with another joking at the makeover Claire’s shed received since last hosting inside it, saying ‘Pimp My Shed coming soon to RTÉ.’

Claire acknowledged her location change on the show, saying ‘I’m back here again. Hopefully we’re coming out of this wave, but many businesses and individuals are seriously impacted, both by illness and by COVID-19 isolation rules.

‘As you can see, I’m back here again — I’m not in the studio,’ Claire continued. ‘I’m working remotely as I’ve tested positive and like so many people around the country, we’re doing our best to work through it.’Guests on Monday’s episode of Claire Byrne Live included Professor Luke O’Neill, who was reporting from Bratislava in Slovakia to issue humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
